As a children's entertainer I started learning magic tricks from a very early age, I think the interests first started when I turned six years old. These were the days before the Internet and the ease of access to so much freely given information so my knowledge was gained from books and joining a local magician's club.
Here are a few simple, easy to do magic tricks for anybody that has an interest in learning magic and would like to start with something simple yet effective.
This kind of magic is called Impromptu magic and it is magic with everyday objects that you would find lying around in your house. I believe impromptu magic to be the most baffling and amazing magical because it does not rely on specialist props, you can borrow a coin from a spectator or an elastic band and make magic happen in front of their eyes.
When you first view these magic tricks they may seem really easy to do, I advise to still practice and play around with the effects before showing them to people. There is a saying that goes “it is easy to do but it is also easy to do badly”. The three golden rules of any good magician are practice, practice, practice, the more you do the magic the less you need to think about the handling so you can concentrate fully on the presentation.
Enjoyed these free magic tricks and who knows, they may lead you to follow a path that I have walked, a path of dedication to the wonderful art of magic.
